Job Description

The APTS (Azure Platform Technical Support) Technical Advisor is responsible for both his/her individual delivery and overall team delivery, leverage his/her expertise to provide, and help team to provide, technical support to Azure customers by resolving technical issues on the Azure Platform and delivering Azure Technical Support against CPE and workflow efficiency targets.

The APTS Technical Advisor will need to closely collaborate with Team Manager and global stakeholders to ensure smooth global operational collaboration and constantly feedback to PG to keep improving Microsoft product quality.

Specific measurements include helping team to achieve team CPE goals, time to resolution, closure or escalation, enabling a response time similar to competitors; maintaining technical skills through completion of ongoing readiness and Platform training; and, in general participating in the creation of future Microsoft support capabilities for the cloud.

Soft Skills Leadership - Manages team’s daily operational excellence and handle technically challenging and politically hot customer situations

Communications Skills - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills effective, polished interaction with customer to gather information demonstrable, troubleshooting skills, Cross-team collaboration, logical and critical thinking, passion for technology and customer support, understanding of cloud vs. on premise computing.

Technical Skills - Knowledge of one or two of the following domains: Operating System/Virtualization, Networking, Windows Azure Platform, Open-Source Technologies Windows Azure Platform

Windows Azure architecture and its components (Fabric, Compute, Storage)

Knowledge of Windows Azure Platform services

Azure Platform development and deployment concepts, operating System/Virtualization

Familiarity with OS Internals concepts, Storage, Active Directory and Security

Understanding of Virtualization concepts and virtual system administration

Experience with VM configuration and administration, networking

Familiarity with networking concepts including VIPs, NAT, DNS

Familiarity with networking tools (ping, tracer, wire shark, etc.)

Understanding of load balancing, geo-redundancy, CDN and VPN technologies preferred, Open-Source Technologies (strong plus)

Experience with system management of Linux kernel Operation Systems

Familiarity with Linux networking configuration

Experience in Apache, MySQL or PHP developments
